Eat At Taipei @ Jcube

Went to this restaurant call Eat At Taipei at Jcube about a month ago, now finally got the time to blog some reviews about it. There were 3 of us, spent almost $20 each, and my friend didn't really feel full.

When we sat down, the manager came to us with an ordering form and told us that there were some dishes that were out of stock. There were actually quite a few dishes on the ordering form were being cancelled away. When were took our order with one the waitresses, my friend asked why there were so many dishes missing, the waitress just stared at her, and said nothing. ( -.- )

This is called 棺材板, something like "coffin" if to directly translate. It is basically cream soup contained in a deep fried thick toast. I would say this is the nicest dish out of what we ordered that day. (Most of what we ordered were so called the "must try".)

This is the 大肠牡蛎面线 (meesua with oyster and pig intestine). The portion wasn't very big, and the texture of the meesua tasted more like beehoon to us.

This is 盐酥鸡 (deep fried chicken). As the name suggests "盐" (salt), it was really very salty.

This is the beef noodle. It was ok, but again, the portion wasn't very big.

Here comes the dessert. I ordered the "must try" 九份芋圆 (taro ball), it was actually what excited me very much before going into the restaurant as i love eating sweet stuff and the real 九份芋圆 that i tried when i was in Taiwan was super nice. But this bowl of dessert disappointed me very much. It was like just placing some taro balls in some kind of sweet water. Oh yes, the milk tea in the background, 3 of us shared one cup and we didn't even finish half of it.

Now comes to the highlight of our experience. The food wasn't great but the service was worse. When the dessert came, we asked for clean spoons from one the waitresses, she just walked off without answering. So we asked another waitress, and she came back with this kind of spoon. ( -.- ) What made it worse was, she just left the spoons on the table instead of passing them into our hands.

This is the dessert my friends ordered, it is called 牛奶仙草 (milk with grass jelly) or something like that. It was really literally some blocks of grass jelly placed in a bowl of milk, and the grass jelly was hard and tasted like plastic.

Overall, I think I would never want to visit the restaurant ever again.
